Korkeapaine oli yhä Suomen yllä ja aurinko paistoi ajoittain tilanteessa vallinneista sumupilvistä huolimatta. Ilmamassa oli lämmennyt sen verran, että iltapäivän ylin lämpötila oli -1,9 astetta. Auringolla oli kuitenkin sen verran keväinen vaikutus albedon arvoltaan pieniin objekteihin, että pakkasesta huolimatta esim. kuvan liukkauden torjuntaan käytetty hiekka lämpeni selvästi plusasteille auringon paisteessa. Niinpä hiekan jyvät sulattivat allaan ollutta käytävän jäistä pintaa. Näin jyvät vajosivat alemmaksi tehden reikiä ko. pinnalle. Kuva on otettu Espoon Tapiolassa. The high pressure was further over Finland and the sun shined occasionally despite the prevailed stratus clouds in the situation. The air mass had been warmed up so, that the maximum temperature in the afternoon was -1,9 C. However the sun had such a springlike effect to the objects of low valued albedo, that despite the frost for example the sand used for the prevention of slipperyness in the picture warmed up clearly over the freezing point in the sunshine. So the sand particles melted the icy surface on the path underneath of them. In this way the particles descended lower making holes into that surface.
