Kuvassa oli kadun viereen kasattua lunta Espoon Tapiolassa. Siinä päällimmäisenä oli hento kerros edellisenä yönä satanutta lunta. Sen alla näkyi likaista ja hiekkaista vanhaa lunta. Päivän aikana aurinko lämmitti jo sen verran voimakkaasti kevättä enteillen, että jo muutaman asteen pakkasessa tuo tumma lumi alkoi tulla esille sen sulattaessa ohuen uuden lumen päältään (kts. albedo). Tuloksena oli jälleen taiteellisia kuvioita luonnon ja ihmisen avustuksella. Parina edellisenä päivänä ja ko. päivänä heikkoja säärintamia ja pieni matalapaine olivat hitaassa liikkeessä Suomen yli kaakkoon. Säätilanne: valitse 22.2.2006; Wetter3 A. Wetter B.

In the picture there was snow piled beside a street in the district of Tapiola in Espoo. On the top of that there was slight layer of new snow fallen the night before. Underneath of that a dirty and sandy old snow was revealed. During the day the sun was warming up so much effectively, that allready in the few degrees of frost that dark snow was exposed as it melted the slight layer of the new snow from top of itself (check albedo). Arty shapes were once again the result as helped by nature and humans. During the previous two days and the day itself weak weather fronts and a small low pressure were slowly crossing Finland towards the southeast. Weather condition: choose 22.2.2006; Wetter3 A.
