Kuvauspäivänä Suomen kaakkoispuolelle oli voimistumassa matalapaine. Sen myötä viileä pohjois - koillistuuli voimistui ja sää pysyi enimmäkseen pilvisenä. Ylin lämpötila ko. päivänä oli +17,8 astetta. Sadetta ei tullut tälle kuvauspaikalle Helsingin Kaisaniemen kasvitieteelliseen puutarhaan. Kuvassa oli hiekkaisella - multaisella polulla varisseita metsäomenapuun (Malus sylvestris) kukkien terälehtiä. Osa terälehdistä oli edelleen puussa. Kaikkien omenapuiden kukinta-aika oli tänä vuonna suunnilleen tavanomaiseen aikaan touko - kesäkuun vaihteen tienoilla toukokuun jälkipuoliskolla vallinneiden viileiden säiden takia, mikä kavensi toukokuun alun lämmössä syntyneen kasvukauden etumatkan olemattomiin. In the photoshooting day there was a low pressure strengthening to the southwestern side of Finland. Due to that a cool northern - northeastern wind picked up and the weather stayed mainly cloudy.
