Tässä kolmen kuvan sarjan päättävässä kuvassa nähdään kokonaan sulamisvedetöntä käytävän pintaa liukkautta ehkäisevän hiekan kera (vertaa kuvaan 15.3.2006). Kohta oli neljäkerroksisen rakennuksen pohjoisseinustalla ja mistään ei ollut viettävää rinnettä kohdalle, joten päivän auringon paisteen sulamisvedet eivät päässeet kohdalle. Kohdasta havaittiin myös se, että jää ja tiivistynyt lumi eivät olleet sulaneet juuri ollenkaan, vaikka 15. - 19. päivinä maaliskuuta päivälämpötilat olivat plussan puolella. Tämä on tyypillistä varjoisilla paikoilla tähän aikaan vuodesta, koska maaperä ja lumi- /jääpinnat ovat vielä jatkuvien yöpakkasten jäljiltä niin kylmiä ja ilmamassan kuivuus (maaliskuussa ilman kosteus on keskimäärinkin vuoden vähäisin eteläisessä Suomessa) ehkäisee sulamista vielä lisää vähäpilvisellä säällä. Tällöin osa sulamisvedestä myös haihtuu suoraan ilmaan. Säätilanne: valitse 21.3.2006; Wetter3 A. Wetter3 B.

In this picture ending the three picture series we see a completely melting water free surface of the path with a slipperyness preventing sand (compare to the picture 15th of March 2006). The spot was on the northern side of a four storey building and there was no slanting slope to the spot, so the melting waters of the day's sunshine weren't able to come to the spot. It was observed of the spot also, that the ice and snow hadn't been melted almost at all, allthough the daytime temperatures were on the thaw side between the 15th and the 19th of March. That is typical on shadowy spots in this time of the year, because the ground and snow- / icesurfaces are so cold due to yet continuing nightfrosts and the drieness of the air mass (during March the moisture of the air is also on the average the smallest of the year in southern Finland) prevents the melting further more during slightly cloudy weather. Therefore a part of the melting water evaporates also directly into the air. Weather condition: choose 21.3.2006; Wetter3 A. Wetter3 B.
