Sulamisvedet ja sade aiheuttivat nurmikoiden ym. maapintojen notkopaikoilla laajojakin vesilätäköitä, koska tässä säätilanteessa veden haihtuminen oli melko vähäistä ja maa oli vielä roudassa n. 20 - 50cm. The melting waters and the rain caused also wide puddles of water on the hollow spots of lawns and other landsurfaces, because in this kind of weather the evaporation of water was weak and the soil was yet frozen for about 20 to 50 centimetres. In the picture we see this kind of puddle beside a path in a park. The yellow stick marks a rain water well, that was blocked by the ice in this situation.
