Eri poppelilajit kypsyttävät siemenensä eri aikoina ja tässä vaiheessa niistä oli vuorossa ruhtinaanpoppeli (Populus "Rasumowskiana"), jonka siemenlaskeumaa oli kuvassa hiekkakäytävällä. Kaikkien poppelien siemenet ovat hyvin saman näköisiä keskenään, joten eri lajeja ei voi erottaa pelkästään niistä. Itse hedelmänorkot ovat erinäköisiä eri lajeilla, mikä helpottaa tunnistamista ja tässä tapauksessa kasvitieteellisen puutarhan nimikyltit auttoivat myös asiaa. Eri viljelylajikkeet ovat myös pelkästään joko hede- tai emiyksilöisiä ja tämä lajike on pelkästään emipuita sisältävä. Different poplar species ripen their seeds at different times and at this stage from those it was the turn of a Poplar cultivar (Populus "Rasumowskiana"), which seed fallout was in the picture on a sandy path.
