Tässä kotipihlajan kukkien terälehtiä nähdään varisseitten rauduskoivun (Betula pendula) lehtien kanssa asfaltilla. Kohdalla oli myös ko. koivun oksia. Tämän kesän kolmannen helleaallon aikana kuivuus alkoi jo vaikuttamaan huomattavasti etenkin ruohovartisiin kasveihin, koska koko kuun aikana etelärannikolla oli tullut selvästi tavanomaista vähemmän sadetta. Suomen puista koivut reagoivat yleensä ensimmäisenä veden puutteeseen, jolloin ne alkavat kellastuttaa ja varistaa lehtiään. Tässä vaiheessa tämä oli kuitenkin vielä vähäistä ja hyvin paikallista. In here there we see the flower petals of Rowan / European Mountain Ash with shed leaves of Silver Birch (Betula pendula) on an asphalt. There were also shoots of the birch in question on the spot. During this third heatwave of the summer the drought started allready to affect significantly especially to herbacious plants, because there had been rain clearly less than on an average by the southern coast during all this month. From the trees of Finland birches react usually the first to the lack of water and therefore they are starting to turn yellow and shed their leaves.
