Suomen ylle oli tässä vaiheessa siirtynyt pieni matalapaine heikentyen, jonka myötä kylmempää ilmaa oli virranut täksi päiväksi lännestä Etelä-Suomeen. Pilvisyys oli edelleen runsasta ja lumi - räntäkuuroja tuli ajoittain. Päivän ylin lämpötila oli vain +2,9 astetta, mutta pilvisyyden ansiosta alin lämpötila oli niinkin korkea kuin -0,3 astetta. Kuvassa nähdään, kuinka aamuisten lumikuurojen jäänteet olivat sulaneet iltapäivällä eri nopeudella paljastuneen maan kohdalla kuin lumisen maan kohdalla (vanhan lumen päällä oli enemmän tuoretta lunta jäljellä) jopa hyvin pilvisessä säässä. Albedon arvoltaan pienempi aines (nurmikko, multa ja rauduskoivun lehdet) lämpeni siis tässäkin tapauksessa havaittavasti eri tavalla kuin jäinen lumi. A small low pressure had been settled over Finland as it got weaker and due to that a colder air had been flowed to southern Finland from the west for today. The cloudyness was further dense and snow - sleetshowers came occasionally. The maximum temperature of this day was only +2,9 C, but thanks to the cloudy weather the minimum temperature was as high as -0,3 C. In the picture we see, how remains of the morning snowshowers had been melted in a different speed on an exposed ground as compared to a snowy ground (on the top of the old snow there were more fresh snow left) even during very cloudy weather. So the matter (the lawn, a compost and leaves of Silver Birch) with a lower albedo value got warmer also in this case clearly in a different way as compared to the icy snow. The same got evident also on every dark traffic paths as compared to the snow and ice. The picture is taken in the district of Tapiola in Espoo. Weather condition: choose Base Time 10.4.2006.
