Tämä kolmen kuvan sarja yllä näyttää, kuinka juuri kevään alussa jäätyminen ja sulaminen on kaksijakoista lämpötilan suurentuneen vuorokausivaihtelun vuoksi. Tänä päivänä yö- ja päivälämpötilojen ero oli kuitenkin pieni yhä jatkuneen runsaan pilvisyyden vuoksi, jonka Suomen yllä ollut pieni heikentynyt matalapaine heikkoine tuulineen aiheutti. Yölämpötila oli kuitenkin pakkasella -0,9 astetta ja iltapäivällä lämpötila nousi +3,3 asteeseen. Kaikki kuvat on kuvattu Espoon Tapiolassa. Tässä kuvassa yön pakkanen oli jäädyttänyt heikosti edellisen päivän sulamisvesiä. Kuvan lätäkkö sai ohuen jääkerroksen, jonka alta vesi imeytyi hiekkakäytävään ja osaksi myös haihtui. Sen vuoksi jää näytti noin vaalealta, koska sula vesi ei koskettanut sen pintaa. Jää oli tässä siis kansi. Jos vesi koskettaisi ko. jäätä, niin se näyttäisi paljon tummemmalta. This three picture series above shows, how just during early spring the freezing and melting appears in twosided way due to the increased cycle of night and daytime temperature. However during this day the difference between night and daytime temperatures was small due to the further continuing dense cloudyness, which was resulted by a weakened low pressure situated over Finland with weak winds. The night temperature was -0,9 C freezing though and the temperature rose to +3,3 C in the afternoon. All pictures are taken in the district of Tapiola in Espoo. In this photo the nightfrost had been frozen melting waters of the previous day. The puddle in the picture got thin layer of ice and from under it the water absorbed into the sandy path and also partly evaporated. Due to that the ice looked so light in colour, because the melt water didn't touch the surface of it. So the ice was a lid here. If the water would touch the ice, so it would look much darker.
