Suomen eteläpuolelle oli vahvistumassa ko. päivänä pieni korkeapaine ja sää jatkui tällä kertaa tavanomaisen kesäisenä; ylin lämpötila oli +22,0 astetta ja alin +11,6 astetta. Sää jatkui myös poutaisena. Kuvassa nähdään varisseita isabellansyreenin (Syringa Preston hybr.) kukkia. Syreenien kukat varisevat aina kokonaisina, koska terälehdet ovat kasvaneet yhteen torveksi. Suomessa yleisin syreenilaji pihasyreeni (Syringa vulgaris) oli lopettanut kukintansa kokonaan viimeistään 17. - 22. tätä kuuta olleen helleaalloon aikana. Monet muut syreenilajit sen sijaan kukkivat vähän myöhemmin ja niiden kukinta oli päättymässä vasta nyt. Osa oli tässä vaiheessa vieläkin hyvin runsaasti kukassa.
