Edellisenä yönä kylmä rintama ylitti Etelä-Suomen ja täksi päiväksi saapui luoteesta tilapäisesti aikaisempaa viileämpää ilmaa; päivälämpötila jäi +19,4 asteeseen. Kylmän rintaman myötä tälle kuvauspaikalle Espoon Tapiolaan tuli vain hyvin heikkoja sadekuuroja; alkanut kuivuus ei keskeytynyt, mutta haittaa siitä oli tässä vaiheessa lähinnä hennoimmille ruohovartisille kasveille. Päivän aikana jatkui melko aurinkoinen sää ja kuvaushetkellä oli vain vähäisiä kumpupilviä taivaalla. Tässä kuvassa nähdään voikukan (Taraxacum officinalis) siementämisvaihetta nurmikolla. Seassa nähdään myös yksittäisiä ko. lajin kukkia. Leikattavilla nurmikoilla voikukan yhtenä selviämiskeinona on kasvattaa lyhyitä ja maan myötäisiä kukkaperiä, jotka sitten nousevat pystyyn esim. siementämisaikana nurmikon leikkuiden välillä. Tässä kasvukauden vaiheessa tämänlainen näkymä on hyvin yleinen Etelä-Suomessa. Monesti tätä vaihetta pidetään epäesteettisenä, mutta mielestäni monilla nurmikoilla tämä on hauska ja omalla tavallaan kaunis tilanne. Säätilanne: valitse Base Time 15.6.2006. Wetter3 A. Wetter3 B.

During the last night a cold front crossed southern Finland and for this day an air cooler than before arrived temporarily from the northwest; the afternoon temperature stayed at +19,4 C. Along the cold front there came only very slight showers into this photoshooting scene in the district of Tapiola in Espoo; the beginned drought didn't stop, but harm was caused by that at this stage mainly to the most fragile herbacious plants. Rather sunny weather continued during the day and there was only minor cumulus clouds in the sky at the photoshooting moment. In this picture we see the seed shedding situation of Dandelion (Taraxacum officinalis) on a lawn. Among there we see also single flowers of this species. On mowed lawns as a one mean to get through Dandelion grows short and close to the ground fitting pedicels, which then rise up for example at the seed shedding time between the mowing times of the lawn. At this stage of the growing season this scenery is very common in southern Finland. Many times this phase is considered inaesthetic, but according to my mind this is a funny and in its own way a beautifull situation on many lawns. Weather condition: choose Base Time 15.6.2006.
