Jäätä oli jäljellä edelleen myös erilaisissa vesistöissä. Joista jäät lähtivät virtaavan ja tulvaksi nouseen veden myötä jo huhtikuun alkupuolella, mutta järvissä ja meressä (Suomenlahti) jäätä oli heikoksi haurastuneena tässä vaiheessa. Kokonaan sulanteita kohtia oli kuitenkin jo ilmestynyt moniin järviinkin (jotka aina jäätyvät koko pinnaltaan talvisin). Kuvassa nähdään Espoon Tapiolan keskustassa olevan koristevesialtaan jäätä, missä altaan pohjamateriaalit näkyivät hienosti heikentyneen jään läpi. Jään päällä oli ollut lunta, mutta se oli nyt sulanut pois ja osittain sulautunut jäähän ja sulamisveteen sekä altaan omaan veteen. Siten monissa muissakin vesistöissä jäät olivat tässä vaiheessa pinnoiltaan loskaisia (näkyvät kaukaa tumman harmaina). Auringonsäteily oli vaikuttanut itse jäähänkin siten, että sen rakenne oli hajonnut loskaiseen suuntaan. Säätilanne: valitse Base Time 20.4.2006. Wetter3 A. Wetter3 B.

There were ice left also in different kinds of water areas. All ice vanished from the rivers allready during early April due to the flowing and flooding waters, but in the lakes and the sea (The Gulf Of Finland) there were ice at this phase as weakened into fragile stage. However completely melted spots had allready been appeared also in many lakes (which always freeze completely on the surface during winters). In the picture we see ice of the ornamental water pool in the center of Tapiola in Espoo, where the bottom material was showing finely through the weakened ice. There was snow on the surface of the ice, but now it had been melted away and partly fused into the ice and melting water and also into pool's own water. Therefore in many other water areas as well the ice were at this stage slushy on the surfaces (they are showing dark grey from the distance). The radiation of the sun had been affected to the ice itself as well in the way, that the structure of it had been broken down into more slushy direction.
