Nyt Suomen eteläpuolelle oli kehittynyt pieni korkeapaine, jonka johdosta Etelä-Suomen sää oli päivän aikana ensimmäistä kertaa kunnolla lähes selkeä sitten maaliskuun lopun. Tämä tiesi päivälämpötilan kohoamista +5,2 asteeseen. Ilmamassa oli kuitenkin vielä sen verran viileää, että yöpakkaset jatkuivat. Lumi suli päivän paisteessa nyt niin nopeasti, että tämän yllä olevan 15 kuvan sarjan kuvaamiseen mennessä lunta oli jäljellä enää vain laikuittain ja lähinnä varjoisilla paikoilla. Runsas sulaminen tiesi edelleen myös paljon sulamisvettä. ko. kuvasarjan kolmessa alimmassa kuvassa nähdään esimerkkejä virtaavasta sulamisvedestä. Tässä kuvassa nähdään hiekkaisella puistokäytävällä oikealta virtaavaa vettä, joka kimalteli kauniisti päivän paisteessa. Mitä epätasaisempi virtaamispohja on, niin sitä enemmän virtaavan veden pintaan muodostuu kimaltelevia laskoksia. Veden määrä ja nopeus vaikuttavat myös asiaan monenlaisilla tavoilla. Now a small high pressure had been formed southside of Finland, which resulted the weather of southern Finland during the day to be for the first time properly allmost clear since the end of march. This meant the daytime temperature to rise to +5,2 C. However the air mass was further so cool, that the nightfrosts continued. The snow was melting now so fast in the shine of the day, that until the shooting time of the series of these 15 pictures above there were snow left only in spots and mainly in shadowy places. The profuse melting meant further plenty of melting water. In the lowest three photos we see examples of a flowing melting water. In this picture we see water flowing from the right on a sandy path of a park. The water glowed beautifully in the shine of the day. The rougher the flowing surface is the more glittering folds are forming on the surface of the flowing water. The amount and speed of the water affect to the matter as well in many various ways.
