Tämä yllä oleva kuvapari näyttää ko. aamun sateen vaikutuksia. Alempi kuva on otettu Espoon Tapiolassa ja ylempi Hämeenlinnassa samana päivänä. Vettä satoi alkupäivän aikana koko Etelä-Suomessa, mutta paikalliset erot olivat melko suuria kesälle tyypilliseen tapaan. Paikoin oli jopa runsasta kuurottaista sadetta ja ukkosta, mutta vain sisämaassa. Tämän kuvan paikalla satoi vain vähän ja kuvan ottamisen hetkellä sade oli juuri loppunut. Kuvassa nähdään asfaltin sadevesikourussa varisseita koivujen siemeniä. Ne liikkuivat veden mukana vain vähän, koska sade oli sen verran heikkoa. Raudus- (Betula pendula) ja hieskoivun (Betula pubescens) siemenien kypsymistä etuaikaan edesauttoivat kesäkuun 10. päivästä lähtien vallinneet lämpimät säät ja jo pitkälle kehittynyt kuivuus. Siten tätä laskeumaa esiintyi nyt jo yli kaksi viikkoa etuajassa. Kuivuuden vaikutus perustuu siihen, että kuivuuden heikentämä puu valmistautuu ikään kuin syksyyn etuajassa. Tällöin siemenillä on taipumusta kypsyä keskenkasvuisinakin. Tämä ei päde kaikkiin lajeihin samalla tavalla. Säätilanne: valitse Base Time 22.7.2006. Wetter3 A. Wetter3 B.

This pair of photos above shows influences caused by the precipitation of this morning. The lower picture is taken in the district of Tapiola in Espoo and the upper picture in Hämeenlinna during the same day. There rained in whole southern Finland during the early part of the day, but the differences were locally big in a typical way of summer. Locally there were even profuse showery rain and thunder, but only in inland areas. At the place of this picture there rained only little and the rain had just been stopped until the moment of the photoshoot. In this picture we see shed seeds of Birch trees on the flute of the asphalt. They moved only a bit with the water, because the rain was weak in such a way. The ripening of Silver (Betula pendula) and Downy Birch (Betula pubescens) seeds ahead of schedule was helped by the warm weather conditions started at the 10th of June and by the drought progressed allready greatly. Therefore this fallout appeared now allready more than two weeks ahead of schedule. The influence of the drought is based on the fact, that a tree weakened by the drought is in a way preparing itself for autumn ahead of schedule. Then the seeds have a tendency to ripe even in an immature growth stage. This doesn't apply to all species in the same way. Weather condition: choose Base Time 22.7.2006. Wetter3 A. Wetter3 B.
