Kuvassa oli eräs mielenkiintoinen kuivuuden aiheuttama ilmiö, joka ei ollut edennyt tunnetun historian aikana ehkä koskaan näin pitkälle aikaisemmin. Kuvassa nähdään nurmikolla haavan (Populus tremula) tuoreita juurivesoja. Ne kasvoivat paikalle vieressä olevan erittäin ison puun juurista lajilleen hyvin tyypillisesti. Erikoiseksi tilanteen teki se, että vesat pääsivät poikkeuksellisesti kasvamaan tässä näin suuriksi, koska ankaran kuivuuden takia ko. nurmikkoa ei sen kasvun tukehtumisen jälkeen leikattu enää n. kuukauteen. Haapa tietenkin kasvoi vielä hyvin, koska sen juuret ulottuvat syvälle ja laaja juuristo pystyy hyödyntämään hyvin vettä. Säätilanne: valitse Base Time 24.7.2006. Wetter3 A. Wetter3 B.

In the picture there was an interesting phenomenon caused by the drought, which wasn't progressed perhaps never before during the known history into so far stage. In the picture we see fresh root sprouts of European Aspen (Populus tremula) on a lawn. They grew onto the spot from the roots of a very big tree nearby very typically for this species. What made this situation peculiar was the fact, that unusually the sprouts had a change to grow this big in here, because due to the severe drought this lawn wasn't mowed for about a month since the growth of it suffocated. Of course European Aspen grew well yet, because its roots reach deep ground and the wide root system can utilize water well. Weather condition: choose Base Time 24.7.2006. Wetter3 A. Wetter3 B.
